The Forestry Development Center (FDC) held a national consultation on the research project “Parameters and indicators for measuring success of reforestation projects in the Philippines” last September 30, 2022 at the Center for Continuing Education (CEC) - University of the Philippines Los Baños. The activity was done through a hybrid set-up where participants were able to attend via Zoom and through the official Facebook page of FDC.

Present onsite were members of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) led by their director, Dr. Al O. Orolfo. Dr. Orolfo delivered a message where he thanked the FDC team for accomplishing the project. He said that the results will be extremely important for the DENR, specially in their implementation of more reforestation projects in the country.

The FDC team, led by Dr. Priscila C. Dolom, presented the draft framework for monitoring and evaluation of reforestation projects as well as the results of their assessment on the practices and performances and the standards and parameters for the success of reforestation projects. Also present during the meeting was Dr. Analyn Codilan, who delivered the welcoming remarks. While Dr. Dixon T. Gevaña, current FDC director, gave the closing remarks for the activity.
